Overview
Vacation of a lifetime! Welcome to Wyoming High Country Guest Ranch, where cattle ranching, spectacular scenic trail riding, and western hospitality join together for an unforgettable vacation experience. Located at 9000' elevation, in Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains, Wyoming High Country has it all - a working cattle ranch, trail riding, pack trips, mountain fly fishing, guided hunting trips, hiking, and mountain bike and ATV trails, and the most secluded and hospitable accommodations anywhere.
Wyoming High Country provides its guests year around access to the unbelievably unique, breathtaking and diverse scenery of the Big Horn Mountains. During the summer months, Wyoming High Country is home to beautiful wildflower meadows, broad mountain vistas, incredible wildlife and unlimited outdoor recreation. Trail riders revel in the rugged high country surroundings of Bucking Mule Falls, the Medicine Wheel, and the Devil's Canyon Overlook, all within a day's ride of the lodge. From the sparkling mountain streams, where the brookies abound, to the low-country waters of Big Horn Lake and Yellowtail Dam, any fisherman is sure to find the perfect spot to wet his line. For wildlife photography, scenic photography and cowboy photography, the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming are a shutterbug's dream. For those folks interested in riding something other than a horse, there are an abundance of mountain bike and ATV trails leading from the lodge, into Wyoming's high country.
At the guest ranch resort, choose the luxury of brand-new lodge rooms, a more rustic cabin, or camp out on a six-day backcountry pack trip. If you would like to ride with the cowboy's, the ranch offers cattle work in the Big Horn Basin, with tent accommodations in the spring and fall months. From July to September, four or six-night activity package provides for both scenic rides and cattle work on the mountain, along with fishing and local sightseeing trips to Cody and Sheridan, Wyoming. Trail riders are welcome to bring their own horses, and explore the Big Horn's unique attractions at their leisure. Hearty family-style ranch meals are served in front of the fireplace, and outside on the deck; there's something about the crisp mountain air that whets the appetite. A simple lodging-and-meal package rate is available for those who just want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a summer's day, along the banks of Bald Mountain Creek.
