   Overview

Ts'yl-os Park Lodge’s one-week Mountain Horse Pack Trips are more than just a wonderful horseback trail riding experience; they are a life experience. These backcountry pack trips seek the adventurer in everyone. They challenge you to step out of your normal comfort zones and have the courage to try something different and new. It could be the call of the wild or the experience of so much free space, but in answering the call, your spirit thrives.

For many that have joined Ts'yl-os Park Lodge in these wilderness mountains and slept beneath the stars, it has been a life changing experience. The photo opportunities are some of the best in the world, amidst rugged glaciers, mountain meadows, alpine flowers, crystal clear lakes and streams, and wildlife. The vistas and settings are too beautiful to put into words. These trips are for fun-loving adventurous individuals, who wish to share this awesome beauty with others.

Your guides are experienced horsemen and love the outdoors; they will ensure that your trip is the best that it can be. With most trips, there is one guide and one cook for the group... you are in very capable hands.

Campfire gourmet meals are all prepared over an open fire and are delicious and plentiful. You will love the meals and enjoy the finest cowboy coffee anywhere!

Ts'yl-os Park Lodge’s mountain-bred horses will be a big part of your trip! With around 36 horses in the herd, you’re assured to be matched up with the right one. Packhorses are used to transport the camps into the stunning alpine valleys along the way. Western saddles and tack are used, and your guide will help you with any adjustments from your normal riding experience.

The majority of guests come from an English riding background. They travel from Europe, UK and the USA to be part of a Ts'yl-os Park Lodge trip. The group is a great mix of fun travelers. Singles, couples and friends are always welcome on these excursions.

Ts'yl-os Park Lodge (pronounced sigh-loss) is located at the north end of Chilko Lake, British Columbia Canada, the gateway to the park. This is the dividing point between the stunning Coast Mountain range and the Chilcotin Plateau, where the crystal clear Chilko River winds its way down to the coastal watersheds. The area offers excellent fly fishing, horseback trail riding, hiking and hunting.
