Overview

The Halo Ranch Outfitters operates a horseback riding and recreational activity operation in the mountains of Idaho and Montana. The Montana rides begin at the Diamond "P" Ranch, a huge, beautiful ranch that sprawls out over a beautiful, high mountain valley just two miles from the Continental Divide!

The ranch is located six miles east of Island Park, Idaho and seven miles west of West Yellowstone, Montana. The Targhee Pass Highway, which connects Idaho and Montana, actually passes through the middle of some of the ranch's magnificent meadows.

Although the main barns and corrals set majestically back up on a hill, they can actually be seen from the main highway. All daily rides are in the rugged mountain portion of Yellowstone Country.

During the summer, three days a week, there is also a full fledged rodeo at the ranch!

Reservation Policy

As there isn't an unlimited number of horses, from May to September you must call to make sure there are horses available. Halo Ranch Outfitters cannot make your reservation by e-mail during that time.

During the off-season months, feel free to send an e-mail for information as well as making reservations! HRO will always respond with a confirmation of your reservation. They do not ask for a credit card number as they are trusting people. If for some reason your plans change, please be courteous and notify Halo Ranch Outfitters as soon as possible so they can give your horses to someone else.
