Nestled between the illuminated Painted Desert of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and the abundant aspen and pine tree forested peaks of the Boulder Mountain Swell is the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch. The Ranch is located on 150 acres mostly bordered by two million acres of Dixie National Forest gifting breathtaking panoramic views representing much of the serenity and beauty offered by the area.

The Ranch offers a lodging experience that is both amazing and unique. Enjoy the natural beauty and relax in rustic, yet quaint, cabins or accommodations in the cozy lodge. The Ranch has a full service lodge with its new Sweetwater Grill offering home cooked meals and plenty of hospitality.

Spring and summer bring an array of picturesque landscapes with blossoming flowers and lush green mountains. The season allows for endless adventure ranging from hiking, mountain-biking, fly-fishing, back-packing, canyoneering and horseback riding. If you are looking for outdoor adventure then this is the place for you.

Hells Backbone Trail offers horseback riding just a few feet away from the Ranch. From mountain to desert the guided ride is an unparalleled experience for all ability levels.

Hiking is available from the top of Boulder Mountain down to the Hole-in-the-Rock Road all the way to Lake Powell. During summer months (June-August) Boulder Mountain, offers a variety of hikes. Within a few miles of the Ranch you can access desert hiking with hoodoos, pictographs, and petro glyphs or trek down into Salt Gulch where you will discover waterfalls, pools and unprecedented scenery. Whether you are seeking a leisurely stroll or a more extreme hike Boulder Mountain, Grand Staircase, and the surrounding area offers an extraordinary experience for all.

Mountain biking in the surrounding area is one of the many amazing recreational sports accessible that still has deserted trails and undiscovered terrain. This wonderland of exploration is obtainable for all levels of riders whether you are following a guide book or mapping your own route.

With over 80 lakes and countless crystal clear streams, fly-fishing is one of the areas secret gems. The upper tributaries of the Escalante produce some of the finest brook trout fishing in the state, where trophies are often caught…(not a fish tale). Tie your fly and cast your rod, you won’t be disappointed.

Winter season activities include cross country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides, hunting, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, ice climbing, back country skiing/riding and more.
